Enriching the Student Experience

Middle school is the bridge that guides students from childhood to their teens.  It is a place where kids have the opportunity to become more than just successful students–but also successful people. This year the Correia Association is raising funds to build on our strong academic core and elevate middle school to an enriching experience. We are working toward this by identifying four areas of focus:

We encourage healthy social interaction through the creation of new physical spaces that inspire students to connect with friends, or relax and recharge. These include a new Student Annex which will provide small gathering spaces with rugs, couches, and beanbags as well as an updated courtyard with bistro tables and benches.

Correia looks to launch its first  “Fit Club” which promotes strength, flexibility, and conditioning. Through stations of weights, balls, bars, and more—the Fit Club will encourage healthy lifestyles, and allow for tracking as the students wear portable devices that measure steps, distance, and calories.

Hands-on academic programs are integral to the enhanced experience. From working on iPads to dissecting frogs; from using the latest science technologies to working with e-tools at home—we know kids learn best by doing it themselves .

Events that span generations and engage partners such as the Spooktacular Music Festival and Community Bike Rides encourage  involvement from a variety of groups.  By integrating the community–from families, to local businesses, and public resources—we ensure the entire community has a stake in the success of our students.

Help us Achieve an Enriched Middle School Experience

When you support the Corriea Association—through a donation to the Annual Giving Fund, by buying an anniversary brick, by participating in events such as Moms Night Out or Cross Fit Challenge—you ensure Correia’s students will receive an enriching experience, both inside and outside the classroom.
